Bio Ronald Damhof
Ronald Damhof is founder and principle of Prudenza. Graduated in 1995 in the study of Economics. Since 1995 he worked as a practitioner in the data warehouse and Business Intelligence industry. In the years he progressed into the field of Information Management with a focus on decision support and data management, trying hard to enhance the rigor and relevance in these fields by combining scientific research with the everyday challenges of the practitioner. Ronald is mainly hired by customers in the role of business/IT architect, auditor, coach & trainer. He blogs on B-Eye-Network.com, is a member of the prestigious BBBT (BI Boulder Brain Trust), wrote a series of articles regarding decision support architectures and is a researcher in the field of Information Management.
Although Ronald likes to work with theorethical grounded research and proven practices, Ronald is not a 'white paper' architect;put your money where your mouth is, is his motto. He likes to see architectures 'live' in enterprises, not just write about it (PowerPoint; the only platform everything works good on..). In most organizations his role extends architecture often. He needs to be a missionary (selling the value of an information architecture), a project manager (getting it done) and a specialist (educating hardware peeps, data architects, data logistics etc.). But that’s the beauty of the trade...
Ronald has got over 15 years of experience. He worked for Albert Heijn from 1998 to 2001 where he was one of the four prime architects behind the infamous PALLAS project (Dutch Architecture award 2004, voted most intelligent company in 2008 and named as a case study in the newest book of Thomas Davenport). He worked for various consulting firms, always in the field of data warehousing and business intelligence. In 2006/2007 he worked for the knowledge institute CIBIT (now DNV) where he is (still) teaching the Masterclass data warehousing In Depth.
Since 2007, Ronald is a freelance specialist. He worked for two years for the Tax Authority in the Netherlands, first as the lead technical architect for data warehousing and business intelligence and later on as the first enterprise architect with a focus on information. Within the Tax Authority he lead the architecture team, the design and development team towards a new Enterprise Data Warehouse architecture.
In 2007 he areceived a unique title from the Genesee Academy; Certified Data Vault Grandmaster. Now, he is considered the number 1 authority in Europe regarding Data Vault. He certifies people and projects in close cooperation with Genesee Academy and it’s founding father Dan Linstedt.
Ronald is asked primarily for the larger Enterprise Data Management environments, but is supporting mid-size companies as well. Writing and negotiating the domain architectures, its business cases and the deployment path. He is coaching Enterprise Architects, designers and development teams in the Netherlands and abroad as well.
His (international) network within the decision support industry is significant as well as his knowledge and experience with tools used in this industry (RDBMS,replication, ETL, analytical software, reporting software, etc..).
